To Love a Scottish Laird De Wolfe Pack Connected World edition by Sherry Ewing Wolfebane Publishing Inc Romance eBooks Reviews
- 1152 From Beloved Berwyck Castle at The Border of Scotland and Ireland to Caen, Normandy for a tournament to pay honor to the wedding of the Duke of Normandy and his new bride.
Fate was in the meeting of Douglas of Clan MacLaren and laird of Berwyck Castle and Lady Catherine de Wolfe! He was there to pay respects and compete and she was there with her brother who was competing also. Scottish and English and an instant attraction that could not be denied. One accidental touch and they could only gaze at each other.
But can this attraction go further or will unseen forces keep them apart? Douglas is the quintessential warrior with a big heart, especially for his sister and mother. Catherine is beautiful and strong but wants to marry for love and not just her status and fortune.
I was so happy to see this story by Sherry Ewing. She is one of my very favorite authors and has such a true gift of pulling at my heart with her characters and descriptions. I could feel the chemistry between these two coming off the pages and sighed many times as I highlighted so many passages in my kindle (yes, I might as well have highlighted the entire book!).
Prepare to sit for awhile because as you start the first page, you will not want to move until the end. I highly recommend this and all of her books! You can thank me later... - I have been remiss in doing any book reviews as my only lets me give 'stars' at the end of the books. I had to come searching for how to do this, but Sherry is one of my favorite authors and when I saw she had written a book connected to Kathryn LeVeque's DeWolfe series, I had to get it. I have also read several of Kathryn's books (at Sherry's recommendation). This book was very well written, and kept my attention throughout. As with all her books, Sherry's attention to detail is fabulous. Makes me wish I could travel back in time to see these places, Berwyck Castle for one. The characters come alive and tie together with their 'descendants' and ancestors I'd read about previously. The story moves quickly, making it hard to put the book down. I wish I had more reading time. I truly enjoyed this book and look forward to more from Sherry.
- What a wonderful book and I expected no less from Sherry Ewing. Catherine and Douglas are worthy heroes in the world of arranged marriages. Their attraction was evident from the beginning, but when they actually fall in love was swoon worthy. A strong heroine needs an equally strong hero. I loved how Sherry was able to weave a De Wolfe ancestor into her Knights of Berwyck back story. Knowing where her Knights come from adds such depth to her characters. So glad that she has joined the De Wolfe Pack Connected World.
- What a delight in reading this story. It brought back fond memories of the Berwyck Castle from Me. Ewings other books I've read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Catherine and Douglas story. I wish it had been longer. Nevertheless the less, it is worth the read and do recommend it.
- I've always been a big fan of Ms. Ewings books and the De Wolfe books by Le Veque so this book is like a reeces peanut butter cup; beautiful flavors coming together for a delicious treat! Only complaint is I wish the book had been longer. I truly hope she writes more books in the de Wolfe word!
- Enjoyable. Likable characters who develop a great relationship. Some aspects of the story could have been better developed i.e. the falconry in the highlands after the marriage, her being unconventional
- What a beautiful refreshing story of a love at first sight! So happy to have read this short but sweet story. Wish it was longer because I love reading details about Knights, tournaments, and ladies. Now on to the next chapter in the lives of medieval happily ever afters!
- Heartwarming. I adore Catherine and Douglas's story!
